I launched as a Designer with Hidden Art at 100% Design 2005 and you can see some of my work on my website : www.olivierandco.com.
In May 2008, I applied to “Reflect Foward” at Craft Central. The scheme is an Arts Council funded programme that enables three mid-career designers each year to develop a new body of work. Selected designers undertake a period of research at a London Museum to gather inspiration for their new work, and benefit from some financial support, bespoke training and mentoring and a solo exhibition.
And to my surprise I was selected ! So I have used this opportunity to reflect on everything that happened since my launch, explored new subjects and now there is an exhibition around the corner…
It is only recently that I thought a blog might be a good companion to the show. Great conversations and books have helped me “Reflect Forward” this year and sharing these might be useful to a designer about to launch…or interesting to anyone visiting the exhibition.
